Know Your Direction, not Destination

"Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established." Proverbs 4:26

I heard a preacher once say, "You don't need to know the destination of God's will, as long as you know the direction he wants you to go".
I've thought of that often since then. How often have you prayed "Lord show me Your Will" ? I have many times. However, now that I look back, I am beginning to see where in some cases, the Lord didn't want me to know his Will at first. He showed me which path to take, which direction to go, and asked me to simply be obedient so HE could show me the end result. Sometimes it's hard to discern God's Will. However, if you keep walking in the right direction, He will guide you.
Take it as a test, and learn to be faithful even in uncertainty.

"In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death." Proverbs 12:28

"For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord,
And He ponders all his paths." Proverbs 5:21

Calvary

Praise the Lord for Calvary! Mercy was great and grace was free - and to think it was free to me - undeserving wretch that I was and am. Praise His Name!

Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died
On Calvary.

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty,
   At Calvary.

By God’s Word at last my sin I learned;
Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,
Till my guilty soul imploring turned
      To Calvary.

Now I’ve giv’n to Jesus everything,
Now I gladly own Him as my King,
Now my raptured soul can only sing
 Of Calvary.

Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span
  At Calvary!

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty,

   At Calvary.
