The Battle

As much as I'd like to say that I always have a constant prayer routine and pray everyday.. I can't. There have been days that I have dropped the ball and haven't made time for it. I'm convicted of it and constantly ask the Lord to help me to be in prayer everyday.
Recently though, there have been several situations that need a lot of prayer, driving me to pray everyday. I also have been searching scripture for verses about prayer. Ephesians 6:12 has always served as a reminder to me, to remember who the real enemy is and who I'm fighting against. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." However, this week I started getting discouraged as I read that verse. Even though I know that God is more powerful than any principality or power, I wasn't seeing any change in what I was praying for and I felt defeated.
Until God caused me to run across this verse in Colossians. Colossians 2:15 says "Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it." It so encouraged me to read, and realize that the principalities and powers we wrestle against are already defeated! The Lord reminded me of what I already knew, but He reinforced it in my mind. Don't forget that the battle we are in is very real and the struggle is constant, but also don't forget that battle is already won by Jesus, and we serve a Victorious King!

Hey

"Hey"

"Hey, whatcha gonna do when the lord comes back for His chosen few?
Hey, what's He gonna find?
Will your heart be ready, or filled with gloom?
Are you gonna be ready? Cause it's gonna be soon.
Can you see the clock how it ticks away?
In the blink of an eye it's the judgment day;
There's a great reward or it's time to pay.
Better make up your mind, He could be on His way!
Hey, whatcha gonna do when the lord comes back for His chosen few?
Hey, what's He gonna find?

Will your heart be ready, or filled with gloom?
Are you gonna be ready? Cause it's gonna be soon.
From the book of life will your name be read?
Will your soul be happy or your heart feel dread?
There's the straight and narrow or a path of sin
Well your time's runnin out,
So I'll ask you again....."

Where will you be when the Lord returns? Confused and filled with agony because you weren't ready? Or caught up in the clouds with Him?

"For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words."
 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

Choose Life!

"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me,when as yet there were none of them." Psalm 139:13-16

Abortion is a pretty hot topic right now. Worldwide in the past century there have been over 1 billion babies murdered through surgical abortions- that does not include abortions by pills or other forms. My heart breaks for the babies who never got to experience the joy of life and for the many women who have been decieved by the culture and Satan into thinking they are more fulfilled and free childless.
Many women march the streets today yelling profanity and vulgar things. Protesting to "end violence" against women, yet also demand the "right" over their own bodies. In other words, they are against "violence" to women, but want the right to dispose of and kill their yet-to-be-born daughters (or sons!) who don't have a say or choice in the matter. This irrational and messed up reasoning is rampant in society.
The bible makes it clear that murder and taking a life without cause are sins. However, Jesus offers forgiveness to anyone who realizes they are a sinner and repents. He will extend His grace and mercy to those who are hurting.
This video goes well with what is going on in America right now.

I Worship Jesus

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

It's better to be good with God than to fight being misunderstood by a world who could never understand. But let it be understood, I do not worship man - I worship JESUS.
 -Clayton Jennings "Jesus Is"

If the world labels you and persecutes you, rejoice! It means that your light is shining, and men are seeing your good works. They hate you, because you are the light of the world and they live in darkness. Scripture tells us that your light exposes their evil deeds and it makes them uncomfortable. (John 3:20)
But don't shut up, back down  or give in, even when the pressure is too much for you to take! God is faithful, and HE will give you the strength to continue to proclaim HIS truth and to give life to a dying culture. As Christians, we have knowledge of an indescribable gift, don't hold it back!

"And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak." Ephesians 6:19-20

Wake UP

"And do this, knowing the time, that it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, NOT in revelry and drukeness, not in lewedness and lust, not in strife in envy. But PUT ON the Lord Jesus Christ and make NO provision to the flesh to fulfill its lusts." Romans 13:11-14

Paul tells us it is "high time" to awake! Wake up! Cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light! Christ calls us as Christians to be a light, a beacon of hope in a lost and dying world. If we walk in darkness, how will the world see any light in us? We have something the world is dying to have. It would be extremely selfish of us to have the knowledge of Christ's love, forgiveness, and plan of redemption and keep it all to ourselves. When people look at me, do they just see Megan, or do they see Megan, a new creature, bought with and washed by Christ's spotless sin-free blood? I pray that they see Jesus Christ in me. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ so that you will make no provision to the flesh and so that the world will SEE a physical difference and experience a spiritual change. Wake up! The field are ripe with the harvest (John 4:35) but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37). We are the light of the world, a city on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14).
Don't be like a candle, who's light goes out as soon as Satan starts blowing his schemes on us; be like a glowing ember, that when it is blown on, bursts into flames, not goes out.
Do people see the light in YOU when they look at you? How about when they over hear your conversations? Look at your social media accounts? Everything you do tells people about you. Don't forget that you represent Jesus Christ.

"Let your light so shine before men that they WILL SEE your good works, and GLORIFY your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
